Hotel

Il Capri Hotel

Capri, Italy

Rising above the heights of Capri town in a 19th-century peppermint-pink villa, Il Capri Hotel is a masterclass in nostalgic, high-style hedonism. Reimagined by a powerhouse duo—Naples-born Graziella Buontempo and Parisian restaurateur Arnaud Lacombe—the hotel trades the stiff formality of the island’s typical 5-star scene for a "pension-chic" vibe. With a décor that blends local wicker and sisal with the owners' personal art collection, it is a poetic sanctuary for the modern aesthete who prefers their luxury with a side of late-night dancing.

Hotel

Skinopi Lodge

Milos, Greece

Skinopi Lodge features seven villas seamlessly integrated into the cliffs of Milos. Designed by the Athens-based Kokkinou & Kourkoulas duo, the architecture minimizes human impact, emphasizing traditional Syrmata fishermen house interiors made from local volcanic stone and retractable glass doors. The hotel has taken special care to preserve its natural surroundings, which include nine acres of wild Mediterranean gardens full of indigenous plants that need little to no water, as well as green rooftops that provide ample pollinating ground for endangered bees and butterflies. Throughout the property, there’s a sense of wilderness and authenticity to be discovered.

Hotel

Chesa Marchetta

Sils im Engadin, Switzerland

This 16th-century guesthouse is a unique blend of Engadine heritage and contemporary art curation. It is the newest project from Artfarm (founded by Hauser & Wirth co-founders Iwan and Manuela Wirth), guaranteeing an exceptional, art-centric experience. Located in Sils Maria, Casa Marchetta is covered in traditional sgraffito etching and furnished with antiques and calming arven (Swiss stone pine) wood. The interiors celebrate the region's craftsmanship and offer a deeply tranquil haven. The experience extends to the culinary offering, with a restaurant led by Chef Davide Degiovanni, whose refined menu riffs on Northern Italian and Swiss specialities.

Sao Lourenço do Barrocal

Alentejo, Portugal

Deep in the Alentejo, where the light turns golden over ancient cork forests and megalithic stones, lies São Lourenço do Barrocal. This 780-hectare estate is not just a hotel; it is a restored farming village that has been in the same family for over 200 years. Reimagined by the legendary Eduardo Souto de Moura, the estate balances monastic simplicity with high-thread-count luxury. It is a place of deep silence, punctuated only by the sound of horse hooves and the rustle of olive trees—a sanctuary for the soul in Portugal’s rugged heartland.

Le Sirenuse

Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Le Sirenuse opened in 1951, when four Neapolitan brothers, the Marchesi Aldo, Paolo, Anna, and Franco Sersale turned their summer house in Positano into a charming hotel, overlooking the bay of Positano. Today the 58-room resort is considered one of Italy’s leading seaside luxury hotels, though it still retains the intimate, cultured atmosphere of a private home.
