hotel Guide

  • Drawing inspiration from the building’s history and the family’s strong design background - Aurora’s designer credentials and the couple’s former business importing antiques from Bali- the project is deeply rooted in Italian design with a modern Moroccan influence. Most of the furniture and artwork have been designed in-house and produced by Italian artisans with Persian and Afghan carpets and stand-out features such as a beautiful green marble bar, which serves cocktails and organic wine from the family-owned vineyard in Tuscany. There is also a curated library and sitting room for guests and locals alike to mingle. The concept of Vico Milano centers around being a stylish home-from-home; a place to work, meet and relax, so social spaces are a focus.
  • Vico Milano is home to seven suites, each of similar size apart from two larger suites. The rooms range in size from 25sqm–40sqm. The design of the suites is consistent with the hotel’s aesthetic, yet each bedroom has a distinct bed and bathroom, as well as unique furniture and works of art.

Sister Property

  • Vico Milano opened in 2021 as the sister property to Castello di Vicarello, a historic 12th-century boutique hotel in Maremma, Tuscany, owned by the Italian Baccheschi Berti family. Vico Milano is the passion project of Neri Baccheschi Berti, the son of Aurora and Carlos Baccheschi Berti, who has turned his vision of creating an ultra-boutique guesthouse in Italy’s most fashion-forward city, into a reality. Much like Castello di Vicarello, family is at the very heart of this project with the building previously operating as the studio and showroom for Aurora’s fashion brand, Bungai. Before this, it was a factory designing and producing legendary Legnano racing bikes.
  • Wine is available from Vico Milano’s sister property, Castello Di Vicarello in Tuscany, which is home to seven hectares of high-density, organically grown vineyards. The estate produces four varieties of organic wines; Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, which were each chosen to honor the classic wines of Tuscany, and Sangiovese, a stable of Tuscan winemaking is blended with Merlot to create an alternative interpretation of the Maremma. The wine is made organically, with natural sulfur and copper being the only treatments used in production. This unique approach to production and the resulting quality has led to multiple awards and accolades, including 5 Grappoli di Bibenda, Super 3 Stelle Veronelli, Platinum Medal from Decanter UK, and the Great Gold Medal at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
