Tremezzina, Lake Como, Italy

Grand Hotel Tremezzo

A palace of Art Nouveau dreams, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo is the vibrant, velvet-clad soul of Lake Como. Since 1910, this family-owned masterpiece has stood as a beacon of belle époque glamour, overlooking the "Pearl of the Lake," Bellagio. With its signature orange awnings, lush botanical gardens, and the famous floating pool, it offers a cinematic experience that manages to be both profoundly historic and playfully modern.

Hotel Guide

Facilities

  • The Pools: Three distinct swimming experiences, most notably "Water on the Water"—a heated pool floating directly on the lake. There is also the secluded Flowers Pool and the T Spa infinity pool.

  • T Beach: A private beach club on the lakefront with real sand, white cabanas, and views of Bellagio.

  • Private Marina: The hotel’s own collection of vintage wooden speedboats—Ruy and Batt—are available for private tours of the lake's hidden villas.

Rooms & Suites

The 75 rooms and 12 suites are a masterclass in Italian craftsmanship—think Como silk, period antiques, and Carrara marble.

  • Park View Rooms: Overlooking 20,000 sqm of century-old botanical gardens, these rooms offer a tranquil, green-hued sanctuary.

  • Lake View Rooms: The classic choice, featuring private balconies that frame the Grigne mountains and the glistening waters of the lake.

  • Rooftop Suites: The ultimate in luxury, featuring expansive private terraces and outdoor heated Jacuzzis with 180° panoramas of the water.

  • Suite Emilia: Located in the 18th-century Villa Emilia, this suite offers a more residential, private-villa feel with its own dedicated spa access.

Wellness & Spa

  • T Spa: A 1,000 sqm sanctuary in the 18th-century Villa Emilia, featuring a Mediterranean hammam, a panoramic sauna, and treatments by Santa Maria Novella.

  • Fitness: A state-of-the-art gym and a clay tennis court nestled in the upper gardens.

Wine & Dine

The culinary program is a tribute to Italian heritage, featuring the only restaurant in the world authorized to serve the masterpieces of the legendary Gualtiero Marchesi.

  • La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi: Fine dining on the most beautiful terrace on the lake. Signature dishes include the gold-leaf saffron risotto (Riso, Oro e Zafferano).

  • L’Escale Trattoria & Wine Bar: A cozy, informal spot for regional Italian favorites and an impressive cellar of over 400 labels.

  • Da Giacomo al Lago: A collaboration with the famed Milanese institution, serving fresh seafood and salt-crusted fish right at the water’s edge.

  • T Bar: The place to be for a "T Ribbon" cocktail and live piano music as the sun sets behind the mountains.

  • T Pizza: Hidden in the gardens, offering wood-fired pizzas in a relaxed, poolside setting.

Budget

  • Grand Hotel Tremezzo is a seasonal destination (typically open March to November). In the shoulder season, rates start at approximately €850–€1,100 per night. During the peak summer months, lake-view rooms and suites range from €1,800 to over €5,000 per night.
