What's the Story

• The Burg Hotel’s journey began in the early 1960s as a modest milk bar. After obtaining the first local beer license, Helga and Fridolin Lucian transformed it into "Gasthaus Burg". Fridolin was a true pioneer; he installed the first biomass heating plant in Oberlech and conceived the innovative tunnel system that keeps the village car-free in winter. Today, the third generation—Patricia and Christian Lucian—leads the family business with fresh ideas that seamlessly blend tradition and modernity.

Sustainability

• Sustainability is a lived reality here. Beyond the car-free village and biomass energy, the hotel focuses on regional value. Many products are made in-house, from fresh bread in the hotel bakery to meat from their own private hunt. These are supplemented by ingredients from local farmers in Lech and the Bregenzerwald

Budget

• Rates start at EUR 500 per night. The hotel is open 9 months a year and only closes in late autumn (October and November) and late spring (May and June).

• The Hotel is located right on the slopes. There is an in-house ski rental, and a collection point of the ski school is directly in front of the hotel.

• Winter: Direct access to Austria’s largest contiguous ski area. On-site ski school, rental, and service are available. Beyond the slopes, enjoy cross-country trails, winter hiking, and tobogganing.

• Summer: A paradise for hikers and bikers. Activities range from yoga and fitness with mountain views to golf at the nearby Golfclub Lech, one of Austria’s highest courses.

How to Get There

• By air: Zurich (2 hours) and Munich (3 hours). Smaller airports: Friedrichshafen and Innsbruck (both 1.5 hours).

• By rail: The nearest train station is Langen am Arlberg (30 minutes).
